Travel Planner

You can probably gather from being around my family that we love to travel and we love Disney! I am so excited to tell you about my newest adventure.... travel planning!

Throughout my life, I have traveled to 11 countries outside of the US, been to Disney World 5 times, Disneyland once, and Universal studios a few times. I love everything about traveling. I love the passport, the airport, and the plane. I love maps and road trips. I love the hotel and the suitcase and of course love the experience of different places all around the world. I just love to travel. This last Disney trip, I discovered that I love the planning almost as much as the trip itself.

(Costa Rica April 2010)

(Kenyan Safari July 2010)

After that last trip, my sister Cassie and I began talking about me joining her in travel planning. After a lot of prayer and several weeks of training with my agency and with Disney, I am so excited to announce that I am an official Travel Planner specializing in Disney Vacations!

(Cassie and I on our first Disney Trip!)

We work for an agency that is an authorized Disney vacation planner, called Key To The World Travel. This basically means that even Disney has recognizes the high standards and performance of the agency we work for.

But our travel planning is not just limited to Disney! We can help you plan a trip to pretty much anywhere in the world!

Benefits of working with a travel planner:

-- it's a free service to you the client! Travel planners are paid based on commission from vendors (like Disney). That means that it doesn't cost you anything extra for booking through us!

-- We often know when Disney announces specials and are always on the watch for the best rates in vacation planning! Cassie and I both understand living on a budget and we certainly understand traveling on a budget (we've never traveled any other way!). Because of our understanding of this, we are always on the look out for the best deals and travel options.

-- Tips, tricks, and magical extras! Because of our training and personal experience in travel, we have gathered a tool belt of tips and tricks to help make a trip special and meaningful. At Key To The World, we like to go the extra mile and offer extra benefits to our clients like booking dining reservations and Fastpass reservations for you so you don't have to wait up or wake up early to get the experiences you want.

Whether it comes to booking full vacations or just helping to plan portions of your trip, we'd love to help!   For more info or for a free quote, visit our website at www.travelbysisters.com or email me at carrie.wiley@keytotheworldtravel.com.

Be watching the travel tab at the top of this blog as I update on past trips and future ones, as well as tips and ideas for travel!

{Weekend Recap} Memorial Day and a Giveaway!!

Happy Memorial Day! Hope you are having a fantastic weekend! We've had a lot of fun this weekend.

On Friday, we took it pretty easy, as Kyle was still pretty jet lagged and I was still something lagged! I went up to Laura Kate's class to help with the End of Year Party! It was a lot of fun and we had a blast. We still have to go back for two more days this week, but then FINALLY it is SUMMER!!!! WOO!

Friday afternoon, Kyle set up a tent in the living room just because we could. We cooked Party Pizzas and watched Little Rascals for Pizza & Movie night. The kids LOOOOVED Little Rascals. They thought it was hilarious, and Kyle and I still think it is hilarious.

The kids begged and begged to sleep in the tent overnight so we decided to let them. Fischer didn't last in the tent to sleep at all. LK and Shep actually stuck it out (although, I'm not sure how much sleep they actually got).

On Saturday we had a birthday party for our friend Luke! He turned three and we celebrated at the splash park! We had such a nice time and it was really nice to catch up with our friends. They used to live next door to us but moved a few months ago and we have missed getting to see them!

We went home for naps and boy did I need one! I havn't felt well the past few days so we ended up just taking it easy this weekend. Plus Kyle is still pretty jet-lagged. He said it's the worst it has ever been for him. He has been so foggy-brained!

Yesterday, Kyle took the kids to church and I stayed in bed to try and re-coup a little bit. I did make it to the grocery store this afternoon and also to check on my parents cat, Glavine. I've been checking on him this weekend while my parents are at the farm. We all love Glavine. Even those of us who hate cats love Glavine because he acts like a dog. He is seriously the best cat ever born.

Last night we grilled sausage and brat and ate outside. One of my favorite parts of Summer is all of the grilling. After meal planning for the week earlier in the afternoon, I asked Kyle if we over-did it this week with the grill plans. He said no. ha! He's excited too!

We ended the night hanging out next door after our babies were in bed! Good for the heart!

Tomorrow, we plan on more taking it easy and more grilling! Also, there was talk of having our own parade down our street. Happy Memorial Day, friends!

Shepherd's PreK Graduation

Last week, my sweet second baby graduated from Preschool! I am amazed looking back over the past year with how much he has grown and matured.

One of the biggest things I have noticed is how much confidence and pride in himself he has gained. When he works hard, he is proud of himself and he carries himself very confidently. This was especially evident when they called his name to accept his "diploma". He walked very slowly with the biggest grin spread across his face and his chin held high. I LOVE this about him!

I, of course, handled the whole program like a season veteran, and only cried the whole time. No biggie.

We have been so blessed to have Mrs. Susan as a teacher for Shepherd this year! She has been perfect for meeting his needs and so encouraging to me as a Mom. (And if all goes according to plan, we are so excited for Fischer to have her as well!)

Kyle was in Thailand during the ceremony, but Grammy was able to be there for the special occasion!

I look at days like this and just get really overwhelmed thinking about how truly blessed we are. I am so thankful for the community the Lord is building up that we get to be a part of! I'm so excited to see where Shepherd is going to go in life and I know I will look back on this time and remember how blessed we truly are!

{Friday Favorites} My Man Is Home!!

Yay! It's Friday Again! As usual, I'm linking up with three of my favorite blogs: MomfessionalsLittle Bit of Everything, and Grace and Love blog. Check them out and link up with your favorites!

Kyle got back on Wednesday from a ten day trip to Thailand. If you're keeping up, you'll remember that the exact same time that 3 of my 4 offspring were really sick for 5 days each! But we survived pretty well in spite of being sick and even managed to have a little fun. I'm so thankful for where the Lord has called our family, and to the vision and mission that Kyle works so fervently towards and I'm happy to do my part of raising these babies and holding down the fort while he's gone! Nothing is as great as when our FAVORITE guy is home though! Boy do we miss him when he is gone!

Look at my surprise that Kyle brought me from Thailand!!!!! EEEEEEK! It think it is my FAVORITE thing he has ever brought me from a trip.

Also happening this week, I got to watch baby birds finish HATCHING. YALL. We have been watching their little nest in our shed for a couples weeks and anticipated they would hatch soon. This is them mere hours after they hatched SNUGGLING IN THEIR NEST. I die. (Also they are creepy looking when they are first born.. right? But because they are babies we let them pass).

The night before Kyle got home, I was at the end of my rope. I was tired...just look at the hot mess that is me! My friend Amy bought my dinner for Chinese delivery. Friends who go above and beyond... such treasures!

Speaking of food.... on Wednesday night we had City Group and my FAVORITE dinner we have eaten since I started with this group last Fall. It was Breakfast for dinner with homemade Cinnamon rolls and biscuits (THANK YOU HALEY!!!!!), yogurt parfaits, breakfast casserole, fruit, gravy to go on the biscuits... It delighted our bellies.

Yesterday these two handsome boys celebrated their last day of school! I'm so proud of how hard they have worked and so thankful for their teachers this year!

Tonks had a bath and a manicure last night. If you aren't familiar with hedgehog care, they need a bath every couple of weeks and to have their nails clipped. Last night for the first time, I cut her nail too short and got the quick and made her bleed ;(. I know it happens sometimes but it still made me sad! It stopped bleeding fairly quickly though, so I though we could have a little picture time!

I also got her a new toy that she was excited to explore... I think it's her new FAVORITE.

Also last night was Date Night. DATE NIGHTS ARE MY FAVORITE!!! I wrote a post this week sharing our game plan for date nights. You can read that here: {How We Do} Date Night.

We watched this movie called "Begin Again" and it was so great! I had never even heard of it before, but Kyle had and it was a winner! Best part is that it's on Netflix. It has Keira Knightley, Mark Ruffalo, Adam Levine (with some INTENSE facial hair), and even James Corden (the Carpool Karaoke guy). Movies that Kyle and I both like are my FAVORITE because it's a rare moment! ha!

I made it to the library this week (overflowing library bags are my FAVORITE) and stocked up on some Summer reads! I decided to start with "An Abundance of Katherines", I'm only a few chapters in but in typical John Green style, I have laughed and I'm intrigued and interested. I already like the characters. This weekend will probably be spent reading whenever I can grab a few minutes!

Hope you have a great weekend!
