Fall & Halloween 2017

We have had such a busy and fun Fall Season this year!

My favorite event at our school is the Book Character Parade they have every October. The kids choose a character from a book to dress up as and then they march by grade in a parade.

This year, Shepherd chose Harold from Captain Underpants, Fischer chose Pete the Cat: Too Cool for School, and Laura Kate chose Alex from the Land of Stories.

The event starts off with a picnic! Kyle and I gathered up all of the kids and had a picnic with Shepherd's class. I like to pick them up a Happy Meal for the picnic as something special that they don't normally get.

I love that we have church friends at our school. These two little brothers were the cutest cheerleaders for their big siblings. (Also, I think they should start a band one day when they are older because this would be the best album cover picture!).

Our friend Annabelle was Fancy Nancy and is she not a spitten image of her?

And Caroline was Elouise!

Of course Donald Trump made an appearance!

We are still loving this sweet dog so much and have had so much fun playing with him!

I added this cute lightbox sign to my kitchen this Fall and I am loving it!!

Archer had his first dentist appointment and did awesome! I was so proud of how well he behaved and let them look at his teeth and brush them!

Because each of the kids made A Honor Roll, they were rewarded with a ticket to a local High School football game. Before the game the kids got to run through the football tunnel across the field. It was so much fun! We saw several friends from school there including one of Shepherd's sweet friends, Sadie, who has been in his class last year and this year. We stayed for the first quarter and then stopped by Krispy Kreme on the way home to get their free donuts for all of their A's!

My Halloween Mantle decor this year

One of Laura Kate's best friends had THE BEST Harry Potter themed birthday party. The kids had so much fun playing Quidditch and drinking Butter Beer.

Our friends, the Courington's had us over for dinner and to paint pumpkins! The food was perfect and it was so nice to have a friend night!

Fun Jen came to visit!! This was the only picture I took with her this trip, but it was SO NICE to have her here. It had been way too long since we had seen her. When she was here we took the kids to the Exploreum and they had a Curious George Exhibit which was ADORABLE. We all had a great time!

We've had our Halloween costumes planned for a long time. And they turned out even cuter than I could have imagined. Maybe my favorite they've ever had! I love having a central theme that they dress as. This past year they have LOVED playing Super Mario Brothers on the Wii and this was just perfectly fitting for Halloween costumes. They each loved their costumes so much! A special thanks to those friends who let us borrow pieces to help it all come together!

We had another great experience at the Greater Gulf  State Fair this year. Archer was big enough to ride some of the smaller rides this year and he LOVED it. And Fischer was finally old enough to ride some of the bigger rides. Laura Kate and Fischer are adrenaline junkies when it comes to the rides, and Shepherd and Archer are more like me... slower paced and there for the food.

And finally, we invited my parents over for dinner to celebrate my dad's birthday. Kyle grilled steaks and made his delicious garlic Parmesan potato stacks and of course had a birthday cake :).

  1. Wow! I'm overwhelmed by your busy fall, but so enjoyed the photos of the kids, especially in their cute costumes.
    Blessings, Carrie!
