It’s been such a great day with my little family! Since I couldn’t travel now, it was just the 5 (6) of us at home!
My day started off wonderfully with getting to sleep in a little bit (thanks Steady!!) and then snuggling with everyone!
After I got up and ate breakfast, we watched the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Sometime in there, I got in the kitchen and got to work on our small feast.
The beauty of it just being our family is just making all of our favorite things!
Our menu this year:
Our menu this year:
– Ham (because I had an emotional breakdown last year preparing my first turkey and that was WITHOUT all the pregnant hormones… Seriously… No one prepared me for the neck and skin and innards.)
– Green Bean Casserole
– Sweet Potato Casserole (which actually turned out more like marshmallow casserole… Pregnant women shouldn’t be in charge of the marshmallows!!)
– Buttered corn
– Sister Shubert’s Rolls
– Chocolate Chip Pecan Pie (Kyle’s fave and he made it!)
– Holiday Cupcakes that Shepherd helped me make yesterday.

We all LOVED it. Except Shepherd. Who loves the concept of food but not actually eating food. But then is hungry all day and night.
Then tonight, we told the kids we were going for a family drive and surprised them by meeting up briefly with Aunt Sassy and Uncle Ca-Ca and Cohen and Cason! Cassie was so great to bring me the next rotation of clothes from her and Ashley for the boys. (Since there are 6, now 7 boys in the family, we have quite the clothes rotation!!) she brought almost 10 boxes!!!
Before we went, we looked up places that were open for a central place to meet. We found a Whole Foods in Dallas that claimed to be open. They lied, but the parking lot was open so we just made the swap there like any good drug deal. The kids were sooooo excited to see their cousins and it was so nice to see more family even if it was just a quick visit!
A very full and happy day! There is MUCH to be thankful for! I’ll leave you with the sweet words of my 6 year old and her “thankful list”
