Thanksgiving 2017

Our Thanksgiving Break was so great. We traveled back to Texas to see family and friends and y'all, I just needed it. Kyle and I have talked about how there is just something about Texas, especially West Texas, that is the home-based "grit". We still have roots there. So driving into West Texas, there is always a part of us that just comes alive. It was so nice to know that that hasn't changed.

We bookended our trip with stays in the Metroplex. It was so good to catch up with sweet friends and I'm so thankful for the roots we have there as well. Some of my favorite people in the world are there and the hugs and talks and laughs are still hanging with me.

We always love to stop and see the Purschwitz's when we drive from Dallas to Lubbock. We met up for breakfast at Chick-fil-a. Love this sweet friend of mine!

We were supposed meet up with Joel and Ashley for lunch but Ashley decided to give birth that day so we just decided to catch them on the way back ;).

Let's take just a minute to talk about Texas Food. Tex-Mex. Mexican. Burritos. Tacos. Queso. Queso. Tacos. And Burritos.

We had some great time with Kyle's Dad and his wife this trip!

Lubbock is also home to my favorite coffee shop in addition to favorite friends.

One of the highlights for the trip was getting to take the kids to the Tech campus and show them around our campus. We all loved it!

We met up with Kyle's dad again at a favorite restaurant of ours: Orlandos. More comfort food. Laura Kate discovered a love for Fettuccine Alfredo. Like obsessed about it. If you ask her what her favorite food is, she will tell you Orlando's Fettuccine.

For Thanksgiving Day, we spent the day at Kyle's aunt and uncles house. We LOVE spending time with this family. It is always so refreshing to catch up and we had a great day spending time with all of them.

My favorite part of the trip came the day after Thanksgiving. The Gilmore Girls Revival. Johanna and I had planned this day for months. Hypothetically we had talked about it for years. This is our favorite show and has been long before the Netflix Days. So when the revival was announced, we knew exactly what to do. We planned the food, the food, and the schedule.

Wanna know what I thought about it? I loved it. I didn't over-analyze. I just enjoyed my friends being back. I'm writing my official review and will have it up soon if you want to know a few more of my thoughts.

When we were in Lubbock, we stayed at my sister's but they were only there a little bit of the time because they traveled to see Curtis' family. I did get a few snuggles with these cuties though.

On the way home, I got to meet this precious one and I am smitten. How sweet is this tiny baby??

We made it home safely, via the metroplex, I can't say enough how thankful I was for our Texas time this year!
